“Clairin” is a white agricultural rum created from the first distillation process. The second distillation process retains the finest spirts from the Clairin. After selecting only alcohols that test at 90% and above by volume (just like Dupre Barbancourt wanted it 150 years ago) we maintain the tradition of premium quality rum.
RHUM BARBANCOURT sugar cane juice is mixed with a special yeast formula prepared in the laboratory. The mixture is then placed into special vats for the fermentation stage. Maintained at the optimal temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, the yeast initiates the process of transforming the sugars into alcohol. Love of the craft combined with a little science creates a wonderful thing.
RHUM BARBANCOURT rum is placed in Limousin oak barrels, the same barrels used to age the finest cognacs. The Limousin oak allows smooth exchange between rum oxygen and the surrounding air. A slight blending of the natural Haitian environment finishes the creation of our unique flavor and bouquet.
